Accreditation

Professional degree program accreditation.

Master of Architecture Accreditation
In the United States, most state registration boards require a degree from an accredited professional degree program as a prerequisite for licensure. The National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB), which is the sole agency authorized to accredit U.S. professional degree programs in architecture, recognizes two types of degrees: the Bachelor of Architecture and the Master of Architecture. A program may be granted a five-year, three-year, or two-year term of accreditation, depending on its degree of conformance with established educational standards. Masters degree programs may consist of a pre-professional undergraduate degree and a professional graduate degree, which, when earned sequentially, comprise an accredited professional education. However, the pre-professional degree is not, by itself, recognized as an accredited degree.

The Master of Architecture Professional Degree Program is fully accredited by the NAAB.

Master of City Planning Accreditation
Planning programs are reviewed and accredited by the Planning Accreditation Board, jointly created by the American Planning Institute, the American Institute of Certified Planners, and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning. Schools may be accredited for up to 5 years.

The Master of City Planning program is fully accredited by the Planning Accreditation Board.

Master of Landscape Architecture Accreditation
In the United States, most state registration boards require a degree from an accredited professional degree program and three years or more apprenticeship as a prerequisite for licensure. The American Society of Landscape Architecture (ASLA), which is the sole agency authorized to accredit US professional degree programs in landscape architecture, recognizes one type of degree: the Master of Landscape Architecture. A new program may be granted a one- or two-year term of accreditation and an established program, typically, a five-year term of accreditation, depending on its degree of conformance with established educational standards. Masters degree programs consist of a three- or two-year first professional landscape architecture degree which, when completed, comprises an accredited professional education.

The Master of Landscape Architecture Degree Program is fully accredited by the ASLA.
