Destination Girard. Revitalizing the Avenue through Arts & Entertainment

Client: The Girard Coalition, Inc.
The Girard Coalition asked the workshop team to develop an implementation plan for their MARS- Music, Arts, Entertainment and Shopping- vision for the area of Girard Avenue bounded by Frankford Avenue and North 7th Street. The plan proposes three catalytic projects to support this vision and encourage the avenue's continued economic revitalization. Two projects serve as anchors at each end of the area while the third centralizes evening activity. The three catalyst projects are: a multi-cultural event center, a cinema & beer garden, and innovative office space.
