End of Term Notices - Back Up Your Data! It' the end of the term and you'll be needing to back up all of your data on your Home directories. Graduating students will have until June 30th to back up their data. After this date, all data will be permanently deleted. Read more on how to back up all of your data.
Remote Render Service - PennDesign has contracted with RenderCore (www.rendercore.com) to provide a remote rendering service. This is a resource intended for any PennDesign graduate student completing course related work to meet their final review deadlines. We have arranged for unlimited exclusive access for 30 days to 20 render nodes (Dual 3Ghz Xeon servers with 2GB RAM). The service will be provided free of charge starting midnight Saturday April 19th and ending on Sunday May 18th. When the final review period has ended (5/13/08), we invite all students to submit any work that may be required for personal portfolios. For more info, continue reading here.
Phishing Scam - PennDesign IT Services has been alerted to a new "Phishing" scam which is specifically targeting universities. If you’re unfamiliar with phishing, Wikipedia defines it as "an attempt to criminally and fraudulently acquire sensitive information, such as usernames, passwords and credit card details, by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication."
