About PennDesign ITS
Support Mission
Note that while PennDesign endeavors to provide a secure environment for student computers, the University of Pennsylvania and PennDesign assume no responsibility against theft or damage for equipment left in studios. Lock-down kits are available from the Computer Connection for approximately $30. We strongly encourage students to purchase and install these lock-down kits as soon as possible after returnong to campus. Students who wish to have such insurance should seek personal policies or check for coverage under existing polices. Students are recommend to take collective responsibility for being sure that all studio doors are closed and locked at all times and for excluding people who are not working in the studio. If for any reason students encounter a problem, they should refer such a problem to a PennDesign faculty or staff member or should contact the University Police at 511.

Student Workers
PennDesign provides extended first-level support during the academic year by utilizing Work-Study students in the labs. Student workers answer questions about software and hardware and escalate problems to the PennDesign full-time staff when required.
PennDesign computing is always looking for work-study eligible students to act as lab assistants. If you have some experience with computers and are interested in working in a relaxed but challenging environment, please contact the IT Project Leader, Cathy DiBonaventura via e-mail: cathy@design.upenn.edu.
