Wireless Configuration

Introduction

Coming into the PennDesign environment, you laptop will be able to discover Penn's wireless networks but you will need to install one of the following software pieces in order access the network/get Internet access. Detailed instructions are provided below.

Configuring Wireless

Windows XP & Vista Users - Directions on how to set up the SecureW2 EapSuite for wireless on a PC are here on ISC's web site.

Mac OS X Tiger [10.4.x] - Directions for setting up the Internet Connect for wireless on a Mac running OS Tiger [10.4.x] are here.

Mac OS X Leopard [10.5.x] - Directions for setting up the Manual Configuration for Macs running Leopard [10.5.x] are here.

Switching Between Wireless Networks

Once you've defined discreet wireless locations, you can easily switch from network to network based on your location. To change location:

Note: You may not be authorized to use some campus wireless networks even though your wireless device discovers them. Contact your Local Support Provider (view Faculty or Staff LSP list) or Information Technology Advisor (view Student ITA list) to learn how to access other wireless networks on campus.
