Course Objectives: 1. To introduce students to the practical aspects of creating a project budget, securing public subsidies, developing an actual project, and managing rental units. 2. To have students demonstrate their understanding of the development process by designing and completing a “Guide to Affordable Housing Development in Philadelphia.” 3. To establish the importance of looking at neighborhood planning and affordable housing development within existing political and funding constraints.
