CALENDAR FOR MAY 2013 GRADUATION

February 8^th

MArch., MEBD, MCP, MFA, MSHP, MLA, MUSA and all Certificates:  Final date to apply to graduate - May 2013

PhD, MS in Architecture, and AM in City Planning must complete the PennDesign Graduation Application and the Graduate Arts and Sciences Application (below)

March 2^nd - 10^th

Spring Break

March 13^th - 15^th

Graduation Fair Get Your Cap and Gown - Academic regalia is required for degree candidates at Commencement. Candidates who do not possess regalia must obtain their cap and gown through the Penn Bookstore, located at 36th and Walnut Streets, in mid-March. Information about how to obtain your regalia will be supplied in late February.

April 15^th

PhD, MS Architecture and AM City Planning: Final date to fill out the Graduate Arts and Sciences Graduation Application without penalty - May 2013.

Final Date for students to defend Master's Theses and Doctoral Dissertations

April 23^rd

Last day of spring 2013 classes

April 24^th - May 7^th

Final Reviews and Exams

April 29^th

May 1^st

May 8^th

All financial obligations to the University must be resolved - Students with outstanding financial obligations and/or exit interviews will be allowed to participate in ceremonies, but will not receive their diploma and a hold will be placed on their academic record.

Graduate student rental regalia will be distributed on the second level of the Penn Bookstore between 11:00am and 6:00pm.

May 12^th

School of Design Awards Ceremony, Furness Plaza at 4pm
A reception will follow in Meyerson Lower Gallery.

May 13^th

University Commencement

(August 2012 and December 2012 graduates and May 2013 expected graduates are invited to participate in the May graduation ceremonies)

7:00am - Gates to Franklin Field open for guest seating
7:45am - Degree candidates to assemble in Hamilton Village, proceed down Locust Walk
8:30am - Enter Franklin Field
10:15am - 12pm - Graduation Ceremony

May 13^th

School of Design Ceremony

(August 2012 and December 2012 graduates and May 2013 expected graduates are invited to participate in the May graduation ceremonies)

12pm - School of Design Luncheon for graduates and guests
1:10pm - Students given notice to meet in B1
1:20pm - Graduates assemble in Meyerson Hall B1
1:30pm - Proceed from Meyerson Hall to Furness Plaza
1:40pm - Ceremony begins, and will end at approx. 3:30pm
3:30pm - A reception to follow in Meyerson Hall Lower Gallery
