Continuing Students

Financial aid for continuing students.

Reapplication for federal and institutional financial aid (loans and work-study) must be made each year you wish to receive this aid.

Re-Applying for Federal Loans, Work-Study, Alternative Loans
You will need to file a renewal FAFSA form to apply for these programs. We strongly encourage you to file this electronically. If you filed a FAFSA for the current academic year as a graduate student, you will be receiving a letter from the central processor containing your Electronic Access Code (EAC), which you will need to access your form on the Web. If you do not receive your EAC, you may request one from the FAFSA web site at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The Renewal FAFSA enables you to update your information, therefore eliminating the need for you to complete a new FAFSA application. If you choose not to file your Renewal FAFSA electronically, you must submit a new (paper) FAFSA which is available from Student Financial Services, 100 Franklin Building.

To process your financial aid application, you must submit your Renewal FAFSA (electronic) or a new FAFSA (paper) to the federal processor as soon as possible after January 1.

Stafford Loan
If you have signed a Master Promissory Note, you will be automatically considered for Stafford Loan during the duration of your graduate studies by submitting the FAFSA each year. If you wish to receive a Stafford Loan during the summer or if you wish to receive less than your maximum Stafford eligibility, you must complete a Stafford Loan Request Form, available from Student Financial Services.
