The objective of Rachel’s work is to explore the symbiotic relationship between creative graphic design and the field of information visualization. Her work constantly grapples with, ranks, and communicates the vast quantity of complex information through different media sources, while it explores non-linear
translations of data. Fascination with the news and media perception drives her visualization of the intricate news network. As most news today is filtered and nuanced, we have resorted to using information graphics and visual aids as our language in this abstract and complex world. Rachel's information graphics, which act as deeper investigations of everyday information, enable viewers to reassess the news with which they are presented. By appropriating images found on different news websites, she takes politically and socially charged issues and transforms them into conceptual graphics open to interpretation.
