REPORT: CHAPTER ONE - Introduction to the Studio
Chapter One introduces the studio area, defined as the area between the Schuylkill River and Twentieth Street and between South Street and Christian street in Philadelphia, PA. The use of historic preservation as a revitalization tool is addressed and related economic, physical, historic, and planning issues are covered. Historic preservation and its role in the study area are briefly discussed as well as the methodology used to obtain the conclusion of this report.
