The Department of Landscape Architecture is conducting a search for three new standing faculty members to offer graduate-level instruction in landscape architecture, as follows:

One assistant or associate professor position in landscape architectural design with a specialization in urban design.

Two positions in landscape architectural design, with at least one of the following areas of specialization: ecology, technology, plants, site engineering, visual media, or theory and criticism.

These are full-time appointments with responsibilities for teaching, research and administration. The specific rank (assistant, associate or full professor, with or without tenure) of the successful candidate(s) will be determined based on experience and qualifications.

The successful candidates will be expected to teach courses in their area of specialization as well as design studio. Minimum qualifications are a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or a Master of Architecture from a professionally accredited program. A high level of research and scholarly production will be required in addition to excellence in teaching. Candidates should be able to demonstrate scholarly experience in their field of specialization and indicate strong promise of making significant contributions to the advancement of contemporary landscape architecture.

Applicants should submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, the names and contact information of three references, and selections from a portfolio and/or copies of pertinent research papers. Review of applications will begin December 10, 2009 and continue until the position is filled.
