Trying
to understand the character of the river and highway, I straightened
the river and the highway to vertical lines, noting significant
landmarks on each. After capturing the meter of the river and the
highway in relation to time and distance, I brought the lines to a
middle
ground
using an arch. Grey is the river and red is the highway. I was
particularly interested in where the highway and river lines met. In
terms of distance, I see the meeting of river and highway as a
bridge. For the river, it is the rest stop.
