The DesignIntelligence rankings for 2006 have been announced, and PennDesign fared extremely well this year: Architecture ranked 4th and Landscape Architecture ranked 2nd, based on a survey that asked employers to name the schools from which the best-prepared graduates they hired during the past five years hailed. |

| Ellen Kahn MFA'92 has work featured in the show "Small Works" at the Bond Gallery, 5 Rivington Street, New York, NY through January 15. Her work also appears in a spread on artists inspired by botanicals in the January/February issue of Domino Magazine. |
| Max Kalhammer MCP'97 is the planning director for the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California, which has three communities or reservations in Nevada and one in California and hundreds of off-reservation members living inside and outside traditional Washoe homelands. In addition, the Tribe has jurisdiction over individial or family trust allotments and Tribal Trust parcels located in Carson City and Alpine, Placer, Sierra, Douglas, and Washoe Counties. In 2003, Max founded a non-profit corporation, African Sky Youth Art Campaign, with the mission to provide professional art and animation training to disadvantaged young adults in the US and abroad. |
| Chris Reed MLA'95 reports that his Boston-based firm stoss has been authorized by the City Council of Green Bay, WI to begin full design services on the $12M phase-one Fox Riverfront (image below), and the firm is a finalist in the Erie Street Plaza Design Competition in Milwaukee, WI. Reed was selected to design a garden for the 7th International Garden Festival at Jardins de Metis/Reford Gardens in Quebec in June, and he is teaching the elective studio "de/generative urbanism" and an advanced construction workshop in Penn's landscape architecture department this spring. |

Martin E. Rich, AIA MArch'64 received top prize in the twelfth annual AIA Miami International Photography Competition. He was awarded "Best in Show" for his photograph titled "Mill" which was exhibited in Miami, FL in December. In addition, two of his photographs "Mill" and "Glow" are featured in the American Architecture Foundation's Architecture 2006 (AIA) calendar. Martin Rich currently heads the firm, Martin E. Rich Architect, PC, based in New York City. Founded in 1975, the firm has specialized in and received recognition for a range of corporate commercial and medical facility projects. |
