Jade Yingyu Zheng MArch'03
is the Jury Coordinator for New York: 2007, an international open architecture competition hosted by Arquitectum. She invited Mark Thomann MLA'99 to serve on the jury for this year's competition, which asks architects to design a new monument to celebrate the cosmopolitan, urban and global character of New York City. Zheng is currently at HOK New York and worked on a residential housing research project, a collaboration between Archiban, a Korean design firm, and the architecture department of China's Tsinghua University, which partners with PennDesign on the Penn-Tsinghua T.C. Chan Center for Building Simulation and Energy Studies.

1990s

Anish Kumar MArch'90 CRT'90
has joined Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback and Associates (TVS) in Atlanta as Managing Principal of the firm's world-wide planning and urban design practice. TVS is a firm of 300 with offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Dubai, and Shanghai. The company was recognized as Firm of the Year by the American Institute of Architects in 2002.

Kathryn McFadden MFA'97
has been appointed Gallery Director at Rowan University. She can be contacted at mcfaddenk@rowan.edu or via her website.

Maritza Mosquera MFA'91
participated in Yours and Mine: Talking Our History, a project of images, objects and talks about race in America at the August Wilson Center for African American Culture in Pittsburgh.
Bridget O'Rourke MFA'95
has been appointed Academic Director of Parsons Paris, the French-based affiliate of Parsons the New School for Design. She currently has a painting on show in the Royal Hibernian Academy Annual Exhibition in Dublin, and recently exhibited at Galleria Facsimile in Milan and the Lanitis Foundation in Nicosia, Cyprus (as part of the In Transition Exhibition).
Matthew Pisarski MS'99
is pleased to announce his induction into the Union League of Philadelphia. Founded in 1862 to support the policies of President Abraham Lincoln, the Union League is a private club of 3,000 men and women who represent a wide variety of backgrounds and professions.

Andrew Todd MArch'95
and Studio Andrew Todd received a Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) National Award for their redevelopment of the Young Vic Theatre, which had already won the RIBA prize for Building of the Year in London. The jury’s citation stated that the project "remains true to the ad-hoc aesthetic of the original building, painstakingly reconstructed to satisfy new technical requirements, yet retaining the audience/performer relationship that distinguished its predecessor." Todd also co-wrote the lead article on the theatre in the July issue of Architectural Review.

1980s
John Doyle MS'84 CRT'84
reports that Doyle Real Estate Advisors recently formed PHASubsidy.com, a coalition of consultants who assist Public Housing Authorities (PHAs), to appeal their operating subsidy. This service is designed to enhance the quality of life for public housing residents by increasing funding for building improvements and non-shelter services such as community rooms, after-school enrichment programs, GED classes and health care screening. The new venture complements Doyle’s HUDRentStudy.com, which assists private providers of affordable housing.
Amy Kaufman MFA'82
showed her paintings this summer in In and Out of the Vase at the Left Bank Gallery in Wellfleet, MA.
Donna Schumacher C'80 MArch'82
recently completed a public art project for Almaden Community Center and Library through the San Jose Cultural Arts Commission. Teaching Stones was created in conjunction with a graduate seminar class through the sculpture department at the Academy of Art University to commemorate beloved community member and reading teacher, Doris Dillon. The work is a circular reading bench and a series of stones; each stone has words inspired by Doris which are separated into different parts of speech for young children to learn about language.

Dinhofer mural Lisa Dinhofer MFA'76
designed one of the largest art projects in New York's MTA system, a glass mosaic mural over 90 linear feet and encompassing 5 walls. Losing My Marbles can be viewed at the A/C/E subway stop at 8th Ave & 42nd St/Port Authority. The artist and her work are featured in the new book: Along the Way: MTA Arts for Transit, which provides a comprehensive tour of the site specific permanent art projects throughout the MTA's subway and commuter rail stations.
Eleanor Hubbard CW'74 MFA'71
opened her studio and home on Martha's Vineyard for a day this summer to benefit Affordable Housing. She and many others in the cultural community are lending a "creative" hand to help address the severe housing crisis on the island.

Bill Kenney C'72 MCP'74
of Fall River, MA, proudly annouces that his daughter, Kathryn Kenney, has graduated from the 5-year BArch program at University of Miami, Coral Gables, and is interested in community design and planning.
