Getting Started

UP YOUR PENNKEY

YOUR PENNCARD
- First week of school, PennCard are available at Campus Express
(Houston Hall, 34th & Spruce); (http://campusexpress.upenn.edu/)
- You can also get your card at the PennCard Center any other
time (3451 Walnut Street, 150 Franklin Building, 215-417-CARD).
Enroll
or Waive the Penn Student Insurance Plan (PSIP)
- All full-time and dissertation students are required to have
health insurance that provides coverage for both in-patient and
out-patient medical care.
- You must go online and either waive or enroll in PSIP before
September 15, 2008 , after that date you will automatically be
enrolled in PSIP.
- Information about PSIP and insurance requirements can be found
on Student
Health Services website.

to Campus
Express Online
- Campus Express allows students to access and find information
about a variety of services including buying a computer, housing,
transportation and parking, dining, Penn ID (see below), and
much more.
Check-in
- When you arrive, make sure you stop by your department office
and introduce yourself.
- ARCH, LARP, CPLN and HSPV - Meyerson Hall
- MFA - Morgan Building
- International students should also check in
with the Office of
International Programs (OIP) at 3701 Chestnut Street,
Suite 1W.
- Stop by the Graduate
Student Center at 3615 Locust Walk to visit
the New Student Information Kiosk.
Fabrication Lab Safety
Training
- All students must complete a safety training course in order
to use the Fabrication Lab
- Please view orientation schedules and register for the safety
course
- Sessions will be offered before and after the start of classes.
Plotter Training
Tutorials
- Students must also complete a Plotter Training session in order
to use the plotters
- Please review orientation schedules and register for the training
course
- Sessions will be offered before and after the start of classes.
Computer Requirements
- To find out more information about computer requirements,
please go to www.design.upenn.edu/comp and
to purchase, please log into Campus Express.
- Make sure your computer has been certified and
is properly configured to
access the PennDesign network. Information will be provided
as you arrive on campus.
