Fine Arts: Visual Arts Facilities

Painting
Graduate studios are located in the Morgan Building. The Morgan Building, c. 1890, renovated in 1999, houses 25 studios averaging 250 square feet. Designed by architects Cope and Stewardson, the arts and crafts style building features central gallery and meeting areas, surrounded by studios with natural light.

Printmaking
Printmaking studios for silk screen, lithography, relief, monoprint, etching, drypoint, and photo-print processes, as well as administrative offices and a computer lab are located in Morgan. MFAs are allowed 24 hour, 7 day-a-week access to all fine arts facilities.

Sculpture/Mixed Media
All candidates are provided with individual studio spaces, located in the Franklin Annex Building. Technical resources include large, well-equipped shops with facilities for wood, clay, welding, and metal fabrication, as well as an excellent computer lab, and photography darkrooms.
Addams Hall houses the fine arts undergraduate studios and graduate/undergraduate facilities for photography, clay, and digital media. Graduate students may make full use of all fine arts resources.

Clay
The clay studios in Addams Hall include both gas and electric kilns with the flexibility of low fire and high fire techniques as well as a plaster moldmaking and slip casting facilities.

Digital Media, Film/Video
The Digital Media Center includes fully equipped computer laboratories to create digital images along with film/video facilities.
Graduate studios for digital media, Film/Video, and photography are located in the Duhring Wing of the Furness Fine Arts Building which also houses the Fisher Fine Arts Library and the Arthur Ross Gallery.

Photography
The photography center at Addams, furnished with state-of-the-art equipment, is keystone in the adaptation of spaces, and includes studios, darkrooms (both black and white and color), film processing facilities, and special project facilities.
Graduate studios for photography are located in the Duhring Wing of the Furness Fine Arts Building.
