PennDesign's Master of Environmental Building Design (MEBD) Program Launches New Site

The PennDesign community and prospective students can now experience the Master of Environmental Building Design Program through a new website interface where student work, degree information, areas of inquiry, and resources are conveniently located.

The program, administered by the Department of Architecture and now in its third year, addresses the new demands architects face with the renewed urgency of environmental issues--from global climate change to resources shortages and "net zero" design.

"Environmental design demands new modes of building, with dramatically increased efficiencies, greater use of renewable resources, and new paradigms of construction and use," said Dr. William W. Braham, FAIA, Program Director. "It's a dramatically different area of study that continues to increase in importance."

The site is a digital integration of what current students learn and produce in the degree program. To learn more, please visit www.mebd-penndesign.info.
