Dirt (MIT Press, 2012), the newest from viaBooks, PennDesign's student-led publication, is now available with launch events scheduled in Chicago and Philadelphia and more to follow. | MoMA PS1 Young Architect Program Win |
The firm of Matthias Hollwich, Lecturer in Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Design, has won MoMA PS1's Young Architects' Program. The winning design, Wendy, utilizes thousands of yards of fabric treated with Titania nanoparticles can treat air pollutants equivalent to removing 260 cars from the road. Emerging architectural talent from PennDesign, including former and current students, is well-represented on winning team. - Read more.

As part of the University's celebration of the intellectual contributions of W.E.B. Du Bois, Professor of Fine Arts Terry Adkins unveiled "The Philadelphia Negro Reconsidered, a suite of 18 Silkcreen Prints." Assistant Professor of City and Regional Planning Amy Hillier presented a board game and scenes from the documentary, "A Legacy of Courage: W.E.B. Du Bois and The Philadelphia Negro." - read more.
