Works on view include a remarkable series of recent photographs by Betsy Manning as well as rare original drawings by figures such as Louis I. Kahn who contributed to this important and underappreciated architectural legacy.
The Penn Club of Houston and the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Design are proud to welcome Louis Kahn’s son, the filmmaker Nathaniel Kahn, to Houston for an exclusive screening of his Academy Award nominated film My Architect, a thoughtful and moving investigation of the life and work of his famous father.
The Wharton School and Penn IUR will host a public interest event, featuring an address by U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, “The Future of the US Housing System: Getting to Consensus” followed by a panel of distinguished national experts on October 25, 2012, from 2:30 to 4:00. Panelists include: Michael Berman, Chairman, Mortgage Bankers Association, Philip Swagel, (former) Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy (2006-2009), U.S. Department of the Treasury, and Barry Zigas, Director of Housing Policy, Consumer Federation of America.
