Rahul Mehrotra is Professor of Urban Design and Planning and Chair of the Department of Urban Planning and Design and a practicing architect, urban designer, and educator. His firm, RMA Architects, was founded in 1990 in Mumbai. He will speak about recent work by RMA Architects in Mumbai. Stephen Kieran introduces.

Part presentation and part discussion, we will look at the experimental, speculative, and strange work of designers who manipulate the moving image process, and not simply as documentation. With Jinhee Park and John Hong of SsD, Mariana Ibañez and Simon Kim of IK studio, and Alicia Imperiale of Tyler School of Art.

UNCOMMON MODERN: Commercial Vernacular Architecture in Greater Philadelphia, 1937-1970

Works on view include a remarkable series of recent photographs by Betsy Manning as well as rare original drawings by figures such as Louis I. Kahn who contributed to this important and underappreciated architectural legacy.

VISTA SANS WOOD TYPE PROJECT - EXHIBITION & ARTIST TALK

Tricia Treacy and Ashley John Pigford created a Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) router to then create wood type of the digital font Vista Sans™ and sent it to 20 international designers/artists/printmakers/studios. Each participant was challenged to interpret these materials as an edition of prints. The exhibition includes all of the prints and video documentation of how the type was made.
