John An is an Associate with Atelier Ten and serves as the principal daylighting, shading design and lighting energy analyst for the New York practice. His research work has focused on the evaluation of lighting energy standards, and visual comfort and glare prediction in electric and daylighted spaces. An provides environmental design and LEED consulting for a wide range of residential and commercial projects.

John An has held teaching appointments at Harvard and the Boston Architectural Center in courses on daylighting, new and smart materials, and environmental systems. He also speaks on environmental design issues at universities, conferences and public forums.

John An will teach Day Lighting in the spring 2008 semester.
