Biography

            New York Studio School

Artist, writer, independent curator (was a curatorial advisor at P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, Museum of Modern Art affiliate from 2007 to 2010). He is also the Co-Founder, Editor and Publisher of the monthly journal The Brooklyn Rail and the publishing press The Brooklyn Rail/ Black Square Editions, as well as the Host/Producer of Off the Rail on Art International Radio, a member of the Artists Advisory Committee of the Marie Walsh Sharpe Foundation and (AICA/USA) International Association of Art Critics United States Section. Taught at Skowhegan, Columbia University, Rhode Island School of Design, School of Visual Arts,
University of Texas, Austin, Bard College.

As a visual artist, his numerous installations have won the Award in Art from the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the Eric Isenbeurger Annual Prize for Installation from the National Academy Museum (2003). Curated projects include " The Significant Pursuit: Form and Geometry," Smack Mellon (2000), " Paint It With Black," Betty Cuningham Gallery, " In March We Remember: Thoughts about Peace in Time of War," The Great Hall, Cooper Union, New York (2006), " Jonas Mekas: Being Together with Friends Quartets," P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center (2007), " That Was Then.
