A. Elena Charola

A. Elena Charola is currently a Research Scientist at the Smithsonian's Museum Conservation Institute and a Scientific Consultant for World Monuments Fund and its Portuguese affiliate WMF-P. She is a Guest Lecturer at the Raymond Lemaire Centre for Conservation at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium. Charola has published three books and edited seven others, as well as over one hundred and fifty scientific papers in the field of stone and masonry deterioration and conservation. She has lectured extensively at various universities in Europe and in Latin America.
