Gisela Baurmann, Dipl. Ing. Architektin MSAAD, practices and teaches architectural design in Europe and the US. She is founding partner of the architecture office Büro NY based in New York and Berlin. She is finalist and first runner-up in the World Trade Center Memorial Competition.
Baurmann was born in Paris, France and studied architecture at Columbia University, The Architectural Association London, and Technical University Berlin. Gisela was a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Program) and Fulbright Scholar, and a New York State Council on the Arts grant recipient. She has taught architecture and design management at multiple universities in the US and at The Technical University Berlin, where she ran the Department of Design and Building Design.
Baurmann is a registered architect with the Architektenkammer Berlin, Germany.
