Miroslava Brooks is a Lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design, Co-founder and Principal of FORMA – a design-driven architecture practice based in New York City, and NCARB-certified architect with licensure in New York and Connecticut. Since its establishment in 2018, FORMA has completed and continues to develop a range of building types at various scales, from single and multi-family residencies, high-end retail and commercial office, to elementary education and cultural projects.
Miroslava has also taught graduate design studios and visualization courses at the Yale School of Architecture, where she was selected by the graduating students to be awarded the Professor King-lui Wu Teaching Award in 2018. Prior to founding FORMA, she worked at Eisenman Architects in New York City, leading the development of the Yenikapi Archeological Museum in Istanbul, and at Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects in New Haven, CT.
Born and raised in Slovakia, Miroslava graduated Summa Cum Laude from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, and received a Master of Architecture from Yale University, where she was awarded the Gertraud A. Wood Fellowship and the William Wirt Winchester Travelling Fellowship – the school’s most prestigious award.
