Entrepreneur in Residence Program with Stuart Weitzman, W'63
The Weitzman School presents the Entrepreneur in Residence Program, with Stuart Weitzman, W'63, Founder and Chairman Emeritus, Stuart Weitzman LLC. The award-winning designer and footwear icon will host student sessions to discuss building his company, creating marketing and branding strategies, and understanding the value of design. Stuart Weitzman’s passion for design has been a lifelong pursuit as he began working at his father’s Massachusetts shoe factory while still in college. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, Weitzman applied himself to the industry with laser like focus, eventually building the globally-renowned company that bears his name.
Over the years Stuart has mentored and taught thousands of Penn students, and in recognition of his active engagement in the University’s activities, the School of Design was named for Mr. Weitzman in February 2019.
The Entrepreneur In Residence session will be hosted by the Weitzman School and is open to all Penn students. Additional 30-minute sessions for individualized mentoring will be available for selected students who apply. The full program includes a 120-minute-long class for 25 students and four students get an additional 30-minute-long mentoring session. The registration link includes the option to also apply for a mentoring session. Due to limited space, mentoring sessions will be highly selective.
The Fall 2022 Entrepreneur in Residence class and mentoring sessions will be held in person in the Kleinman Center Forum on Wednesday, October 26th.
Penn Students are required to sign up for a session by registering here by October 14th.

Testimonials from past attendees:
"The conversation was guided carefully as it was clear he spent time contemplating what's the best use of time and what content would be most relevant for us."
"Listening to Mr. Weitzman discuss his business strategies as he built his brand was truly inspirational. While he was talking I couldn't help but admire the foresight he had as a young entrepreneur. In addition, his stories were unique but also applicable to business in other industries as well, especially his reflections on marketing and building partnerships, and I definitely will not forget his talk."
"His stories were fantastic and filled with insights. Honestly, this was hands-down the best talk I have attended in any format since attending Wharton."
"I loved being in a small-group and having such a personal interaction with Stuart Weitzman. I loved that he tailored his talk to meet our interests. I love that he told really funny, but insightful stories about his career, and that we were able to chime in and participate."
