A Fireside Chat with Michael Nutter and Leslie Richards

The Department of City and Regional Planning is pleased to welcome Michael Nutter and Leslie Richards for a fireside chat as part of our departmental speaker series.

Michael Nutter is the former Mayor of Philadelphia and Managing Director of the Public Service and Policy Initiative at the Weitzman School. Leslie Richards is a Professor of Practice in City and Regional Planning, Executive Director of the Transportation Initiative at Penn (TRIP) with Penn IUR, and former PennDOT Secretary and CEO of SEPTA.

Drawing on their deep experience in public leadership, transportation, infrastructure, and urban policy, Nutter and Richards will reflect on Philadelphia’s past, present, and future, and on the challenges and opportunities facing cities today. Their conversation will consider the role of planning in shaping public decisions, infrastructure, and everyday urban life, in Philadelphia and beyond.
