Kristen Giannantonio

Assistant Director for Administration

Kristen Giannantonio is an arts administrator, educator, and creative producer from Philadelphia. She is currently the Assistant Director for Administration of the Undergraduate Program in Fine Arts and Design a the Unversity of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design. In this role, she manages all aspects of the program’s administrative, academic, fiscal and programmatic operations. She is also Associate Curator and Director of Operations at Monument Lab, a national public art and history studio, where she directs the studio’s operations and development, and manages all curatorial, programmatic, and research projects. She  has ten years’ expertise working in the nonprofit arts sector and higher education, specializing in strategic planning, program development, and project management. She has acute experience working on large-scale interdisciplinary projects and exhibitions, with an emphasis on public art, social practice, community-based art, and emerging contemporary art and design practices.  She has produced projects locally including Monument Lab: A Public Art and History Project (2017), Portraits of Justice (2018), and the Vare Recreation Center Rebuild project (2019); as well as national research residencies in collaboration with the Pulitzer Arts Foundation (St. Louis, 2019), The High Line (New York, 2019), and The Bentway (Toronto, 2019). She  received a Master of Liberal Arts, with a concentration in Art, Education and Urban Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Art History from the Pennsylvania State University.
