Emily Blanton

City Planning

Emily graduated from the Weitzman School of Design this Spring with a Master of City Planning, concentrating in land use and environmental planning. She is interested in how sustainable land use practices and decision-making processes can be improved to manage urban growth, protect water resources and open space, and reduce climate risks in a way that bolsters equitable development. Prior to graduate school, she worked in environmental consulting on federal environmental policy and brownfields redevelopment projects, merging her interests in equitable economic development and environmental revitalization. Outside of her academic interests, she enjoys hiking, being active outdoors, and trying to pet every dog she sees.
