Jonah Garnick

City Planning

Jonah is a Master of City Planning candidate at the Weitzman School of Design. His academic and professional interests lie at the intersection of climate change adaptation/mitigation planning, environmental justice, and open space planning. Prior to coming to Penn, Jonah worked for three years at the Bronx River Alliance, an environmental nonprofit in the Bronx, where he advocated for the construction of waterfront greenways in environmental justice communities. He also spent a year living in Berlin on a U.S. State Department cultural exchange fellowship. Jonah is a native New Yorker and completed his undergraduate degree in urban studies at the Macaulay Honors College at CUNY Hunter College. In his free time Jonah often can be found riding his bike, cooking, and eating his way through Philly.
