Born and raised in Seoul, Korea, Kay explores her discomforts — of her own body, gender identity, sexuality, religion, culture, and surroundings. Kay makes paintings, drawings, sculptures, installations, and VR art. Her works have been shown in Seoul, Gimpo, Seongnam, Gongju, St. Louis, Los Angeles, and Paris. She loves baking but only when she is not depressed and is fond of anything that contains an ungodly amount of garlic. Kay is currently a second-year MFA candidate and a lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania.
