Rudy Gerson

Fine Arts

rudy gerson is in our diaspora — a second generation Ashkenazi Jewish-Cuban, a third-generation American settler, a queer abolitionist artist, and a white educator based in occupied Lenni-Lenape territory (Philadelphia). rudy creates time-based media through sculpture, performance, and language by way of visual, sonic, and spatial mediums. Archival research, black studies, and anachronistic histories of abstraction animate their research-based practice. Their work can be situated across the categories of relational art, institutional critique, and queer use.
