Nana Ntiriwaa-Berkoh

Hello! My name is Nana Ntiriwaa-Berkoh and I am a third-year M.Arch student at the University of Pennsylvania. I also graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2020 with a major in architecture and a minor in anthropology. I’ve always been interested in the intersection between these disciplines and hope to do work that draws on culture and identity to make architecture that holistically supports people’s health and happiness. I have a strong interest in community work and education, being an educator myself outside of my design work, which I hope to continue alongside my practice. I value the interdisciplinary approach to design and believe that using this approach effectively leads to more thoughtful, and therefore impactful, solutions, as we as designers have a broader understanding of our work's physical and psychological effects. I hope to also use this knowledge to teach and encourage others to take ownership of their space, whether that’s learning to personalize these spaces to maximize functionality or to advocate for elements that will support health and wellness.
