Nicola Macdonald

Nicola Macdonald will graduate with an MSc. in Historic Preservation, specializing in Architectural Conservation and Archaeological Sciences. At Penn, she has developed her skills in material analysis using techniques like microscopy, XRF, and VIL imaging to identify the constituents of historic fabrics and determine previous treatment campaigns. Nicola has participated in assessing and analyzing significant sites throughout Philadelphia and treated ancient Egyptian tomb artifacts at the Penn Museum's Center for the Analysis of Archaeological Materials.
Before her time at Penn, Nicola worked as a Conservation Technician in various cities across the U.S. and Italy, gaining invaluable experience working with diverse materials, including architecture, archaeological artifacts, and artworks, providing a strong foundation for her professional pursuits.
