Simps Bhebhe

Simps became a city planner because of his love for people and his unwavering belief that humanity can create the world we aspire to live in. This love for and belief in people is reflected in the extracurricular activities he engaged in at Penn: Simps was a Lipman Fellow, a Wharton Future of Cities Content Creator, and facilitated the first Weitzman-wide clothing drive. Simps’ approach to city planning is characterized by a profound focus on not only what we plan, but HOW we plan, and WHO we plan for. Through multiple planning topics explored at Penn, Simps has discovered that many of the injustices and inequities that plague our communities and built environment can be effectively addressed by transforming the way we approach planning. Moving forward he will work to transform planning practices that are barriers to equity and thriving communities.
