Zaiyang Tian

Zaiyang Tian has a master’s degree in architecture with advanced standing at the University of Pennsylvania.He is also graduating with a Landscape Studies Certificate from Stuart Weitzman School of Design.He is a real estate student club member at UPenn.

Zaiyang has rich practical and learning experience in design.He was in the 2022 Gensler Summer Fellowship Finalist. He has working experience at Gensler, Kengo Kuma & Associates and PC&P(Cesar Pelli).He participated in different style projects,such as skyscraper,museum,airport,educational and residential building.Before he came to UPenn,he had architectural learning experience at SCI-Arc and urban planning learning experience in China.He defines himself as a cross-scale and interdisciplinary designer due to his past design experience.

Zaiyang is passionate about exploring the weird,uncanny and non-linear forms of architecture.He thanks UPenn and SCI-Arc for helping him gain initial freedom in architectural form.Also,the learning experience at UPenn helped him blur the boundary between architecture and landscape, and made him focus on aspects such as the synthetic nature and new biological materials in architecture.He still has a dream of his own architectural design in the future real world:将非线性革命进行到底!
