AJ Jenkins
AJ Jenkins is a Philadelphia native with a profound connection to her city. Graduating cum laude in 2017 from La Salle University with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE), she also attained dual minors in Leadership and Global Understanding, as well as Religion. Her academic achievements reflect her dedication to interdisciplinary learning and her commitment to understanding complex societal issues.
At the University of Pennsylvania, where she pursued her graduate studies in City Planning, AJ's research has concentrated on affordable housing and improving accessibility to housing, particularly focusing on expiring subsidies in Philadelphia. Her passion for housing policy stems from her belief that everyone deserves a safe and secure place to call home, and she is particularly dedicated to advancing economic mobility for Black and Brown residents in Philadelphia.
During her time at Penn, AJ has been actively involved in various organizations, serving as the Co-President of the Black Graduate Women's Association and co-founding the Black Planning Society.
Upon completing her Master's degree in City Planning with a concentration in Public-Private Partnerships at the University of Pennsylvania, AJ will embark on a new chapter as an Assistant Project Manager at Diamond and Associates, a distinguished affordable housing consulting firm. With her blend of academic knowledge and practical experience, she eagerly anticipates the opportunity to apply her expertise and unwavering dedication to drive meaningful, positive change within her community.
