Throughout my academic journey, I've explored the dynamic relationship between the built and natural environment. My bachelor's in environmental science from Colorado College fostered an appreciation for ecology and the interrelationships of the natural world. At Penn, I've expanded on this foundation by exploring different ways to integrate natural sciences into landscape design to create engaging public spaces. These explorations have evolved through knowledge gained in a variety of classes, studios, and my Certificate in Ecological Planning. Through these courses, I have grown my toolbox of design and analysis techniques and approaches to craft landscapes that balance human and non-human interactions. I’ve been interested in how we as designers can use our tools to create spaces that foster educational experiences. Many of my projects, including those showcased here, incorporate elements of environmental education, conservation, and ecological systems.
