My main interest within landscape architecture is in community resiliency under the climate crisis. For my undergraduate degree, I studied city planning at Cornell University, which has shaped my understanding of contemporary urban and social issues. While I had looked forward to going to design school to study the technical aspects of ecological design, I came to appreciate the skills we learn to communicate our ideas and represent information visually.
In my time at Penn, my studio projects have grappled with social tensions and environmental degradation. I also worked as a research assistant at the Ian McHarg Center — my focus was visualizing case studies of climate migration across the United States in formats ranging from comics to animations. As I approach graduation, I look forward to using design and planning tools to help facilitate conversations within communities to build resiliency in a changing world.
