Jessica Wong
Jess is a third-year graduating from the M.Arch program class of 2024. She is originally from Akron, Ohio and completed her Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Minor in Sociology at the University of Cincinnati. During her architectural education she has developed a strong interest in understanding the social impacts of architecture and urban design, community engagement strategies, and exploring collective processes in architectural development.
While at Penn, Jess has engaged in various teaching and research roles. She served as a teaching assistant for both the graduate second-year studio and third-year undergraduate architecture studio. Jess also contributed to research and participated in the Housing Justice Futures: Philadelphia Forum on Design, Race, and Climate Change symposium and Chinatown Futures Workshop. Additionally, she worked as a Design Fellow for Penn Praxis' Design to Thrive program, collaborating with students from West Philadelphia High School on a design/build project. As she transitions into professional practice, Jess looks forward to contributing to meaningful projects that prioritize equity, environmental responsibility, and collaborative actions in architectural design.
