Mitchell Coziahr
As a graduating Master of Architecture student, most of my work this academic year is related to research studios. Within the two studios, the work stems from traveling abroad to Brazil and experiencing the dynamic and active culture within São Paulo or traveling to Scotland and exploring an exciting landscape within the Isle of Skye.
Within the work I specifically enjoyed working within the realm of how culture, materiality, and the context of the project manifest into architectural consequences or experiences. Both projects worked with natural materials as primary construction and façade, yet in drastically different environments, approaches, and programs. There was an invested interest in how the context of the project, whether being a vast landscape or a dense urban fabric, creates a relationship within the project and its dynamics. I find value in deriving ways to implement these interests and ideas into my post-graduate work.
After graduation, I’m excited to transfer many of the design and technical skills that I have developed during my time at Weitzman School of Design. I aim to continue to push the boundaries of design within my professional experience while I work towards licensure.
