Rongxuan (Roxanne) Zhou
Roxanne Zhou is an aspiring architectural designer from Tianjin, China. Her work strives to balance the public space and the individual experience through narratives, multi-sensory experiences, and computational techniques. Her interests specifically lie within the interactive production of architectural spaces and individualized experiences through sound. As a thesis student, she investigates sound as both a design parameter and a building material. Her design proposal also engages with spatial tracking and algorithmic composition, both of which enhance the interactivity and complexity of the spatial experience.
Roxanne holds a Bachelor of Arts in architecture with minors in music and physics from the University of Pennsylvania. During her graduate years at Penn, she was a Research Assistant to Professor Masoud Akbarzadeh and a Teaching Assistant for ARCH 6360. She is actively engaged in student activities and served as co-VP of Student Life in her last year.
