Siyu Gao

I am Siyu Gao, a final-year MArch student at Penn, poised to graduate this summer. With a foundational Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Art and Design from Tsinghua University, I've sculpted my architectural philosophy around the integration of environmental sustainability with innovative design solutions. My academic and professional explorations both deeply infused with a commitment to ecological and sustainable practices.

My work is particularly focused on pioneering projects like the "Self-Sustaining Micro Ecological Island" and the "Micro Accelerator." These initiatives are designed to revolutionize the way we interact with our environments, proposing new educational and community paradigms rooted in self-sustaining and environmentally adaptive practices. They reflect my vision for the future of architecture—where buildings and infrastructures actively participate in ecological conservation and energy efficiency.

My goal is to continue exploring how architecture can not only coexist but also positively interact with our planet's ecosystems, anticipating and mitigating the impacts of a changing climate.
