Having worked many years in urban planning, I quickly grew an interest in data science and GIS. That is why the Masters of Urban Spatial Analytics (MUSA) program inspired me to pivot towards the intersection of geospatial science, and public policy.

This year, I was most excited to learn about policy analytics and machine learning, two essential tools for bringing together data-driven ideas and decision making. What was equally rewarding was the Practicum class experience, where I presented how cities around the world can identify areas susceptible to marine plastic pollution. I’m grateful to have a solid foundation of technical skills & design, where I can combine these to add value to wherever I go.
