Adil Godfrey Belgaumi
I developed an interested in City Planning at a young age, trying to figure out how to diagnose and treat the issues I saw in the city I grew up in, Karachi, Pakistan. The more I learned about these complex issues, the more fascinated I became, and I developed a strong appreciation for both the technical and the social aspects of urban challenges that make them so hard to solve. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from Swarthmore College in 2020 and worked at the north-Philadelphia non-profit Asociacion de Puertorriqueños en Marcha as a Data Analyst for 2 years before beginning this program.
I am interested in every aspect of planning and how the various pieces of the urban fabric fit together but hope to focus my career particularly on land use planning and climate change adaptation. My dream is to ultimately contribute to work being done in developing economies like the one I grew up in, building better communities for people to live in that are resistant to the perils of our changing climate.
