Chaowu Li

I hold a bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from Beijing Forestry University, graduating with a National Scholarship. At Penn, I have pursued a Master of Landscape Architecture for 3 years.

With a Time-Based and Interactive Media certificate and an Urban Design certificate, I have always been interested in Time and Process. I am particularly interested in exploring how different media represent the landscape and the world differently. Therefore, I work closely with drawings, photos, videos, animations, performance, and so on, to tell a story that has never been told like this before. It cultivates my eyes to observe, and my skills to think.

My passion for photography helps me pay attention to materials and how people interact with the landscape, which hones my sensitivity to place-making. My explorations in multiple media keep bringing fresh ideas to landscape architecture. After graduating, I will keep exploring and hope to blend landscape architecture and photography well.
