Clarasophia Gust

Originally from the “land of 10,000 lakes” in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Clarasophia graduated from Occidental College with a degree in biology and environmental science before going on to work as a Watershed Coordinator for a science-based nonprofit in Los Angeles. This work, which sought to bridge the divide between top-down and bottom-up urban environmental planning and watershed management, led her to pursue a Master of Landscape Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania. While at the University of Pennsylvania, Clarasophia has been interested in design which embraces the ever-evolving character of landscape and projects centered on water. In addition to her studies, Clarasophia worked as a research assistant with the EMLab and a landscape design intern with The Nature Conservancy - roles in which she further explored her interest the landscapes where water meets the land in applying the systems-thinking approach of landscape architecture to ecosystem restoration and coastal resilience infrastructure.
