Hongxin Lyu

I am a graduate student in Environmental Building Design at the University of Pennsylvania, where I pursue advanced research at the nexus of architectural performance, ecological intelligence, and innovation strategy. Drawing from cross-disciplinary training at the Weitzman School of Design, Penn Engineering, and the Wharton School, my work integrates climate-responsive design, lifecycle analytics, and systems thinking to reimagine the future of the built environment.
With prior experience at a national design institute and an academic foundation from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, I operate across scales—from material prototyping to urban metabolism modeling. I am currently developing a venture concept that explores acoustic intelligence in spatial environments, linking design with sensory technology and entrepreneurial foresight.
My approach is both research-driven and impact-oriented, grounded in the belief that spatial design must evolve as a platform for environmental innovation, technological integration, and societal transformation.
