Isabel Mulay
Isabel (she/her) is a Master of City Planning student concentrating in Land Use & Environmental Planning. She is especially passionate about climate resilience, equitable design, and creating sustainable cities. Some notable projects from her tenure at Penn include: developing a strategic plan for Philadelphia’s Chinatown grounded in equity, culture, and community; designing a stormwater management and sea level rise plan for Refshaleøen in Copenhagen; and creating a strategy for managed retreat in Galveston, Texas.
Isabel graduated from Tufts University in 2023, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Environmental Studies. She previously interned for the Charles River Watershed Association, where she conducted community engagement and education centered around watersheds and the environment. While at Weitzman, Isabel interned for U3 Advisors in Philadelphia and Buro Happold in New York City. Her projects included economic revitalization for villages in upstate New York, GIS analysis of land suitability for a campus in Alaska, and mobility strategies for a resort in Saudi Arabia. After graduating, Isabel is excited to join Buro Happold full time in NYC, continuing her work building resilient communities.
