Her professional experience spans large-scale urban projects at AECOM in Hong Kong, grassroots design with Doh Eain in Yangon, and educational and healthcare infrastructure for migrants with a.gor.a architects along the Thai-Myanmar border. At the University of Hong Kong, she participated in the research on the environmental impacts of infrastructure expansion in Southern Myanmar region.
Skilled in spatial analysis, site planning, and community engagement, Saw Yu’s projects reflect a focus on ecological resilience and social equity. Her designs range from intergenerational playscapes promoting inclusive interaction to adaptive landscapes that mitigate environmental risks. By reimagining landscapes of displacement, she aims to foster sustainability, resilience, and environmental justice for communities navigating transboundary challenges arising from conflict, migration, and climate crisis.
